How exactly does a Padel Klasiko game work?
Group Stage:
The group draw takes place the day before the tournament. To ensure fairness, the highest-ranked pairs in the LigaPadla.pl ranking are seeded and assigned to separate groups.
In the classic case when the group stage consists of two, four, eight or sixteen groups – the two best pairs from each group advance to the knockout stage.
In other cases, when the number of groups is not a power of two, the top pairs based on the so-called group stage aggregate table advance to the knockout stage. This means that after all group stage matches have been played, all groups are combined into one table, and the top 4, 8, 16, or 32 pairs—depending on the size of the tournament—continue to play.
The place in the group is decided by Match Points (see how we count them), and secondly, the balance of games. So it’s worth fighting for every set and game!
Knockout Stage:
In the knockout stages, we’re entering a no-compromise mode – we warned you that the Klasiko is a serious tournament. Matches are played by knockout – the winner advances, the loser is eliminated.
Rules of play in matches
Matches in the Klasiko tournament are played according to the standard padel rules – professional matches played to the best of two sets. The organizer may (but is not obligated to) implement the “golden point” rule in a game, a match tie-break instead of a deciding set, or shorten sets to four games (always starting from 0-0). All information regarding the rules for a specific tournament is provided by the tournament organizer.
How do you score points in Klasiko?
Klasiko is a huge boost to your points tally – in this format you can earn significantly more than in Americano, Mexicano or Polako! Your final tally is made up of the sum Match Points and Bonus Points.
A. Match Points
Points are awarded for each match played. In Klasiko, it’s not just about the dry win/loss score. By fighting to the end on the court and taking the set from your opponents, you can significantly improve your points tally!

B. Bonus Points for placing in the tournament
These points are awarded based on the Final Tournament Standings, which take into account the stage at which you were eliminated, as well as your Match Points and game record.
The principle is simple: the bigger the tournament, the more points up for grabs! The top pair receives a number of points equal to the number of participants in the tournament (e.g., with 16 players/pairs, the winners take 16 points). Each subsequent place receives 2 fewer points, until the last pair earns 2 points.
Level Multiplier – play with stronger players, get more!
Both Match Points and Bonus Points are multiplied by the Tournament Tier Multiplier at the end. The higher the tournament tier, the more we reward your entry:

How long does the Klasiko tournament last?
The duration of the Klasiko is longer than that of the Americano/Mexicano, due to the best-of-two-sets format. Therefore, the organizer only provides the tournament start time. The group stage usually ends after 2-4 hours, depending on the number of groups and courts in the tournament. After that, each subsequent knockout stage match takes approximately one hour. The further you progress, the longer the game takes.
Can I sign up for Klasiko individually?
No, Klasiko only accepts couples. The person signing up for the couple enters their partner’s details in the system and pays the entry fee (they then settle the accounts between themselves).
Is it possible to replace a partner in Klasiko?
This can only be done before the registration deadline – please contact the tournament organizer. Once registration closes and the groups are drawn, this option is no longer available.
